Tom: Our Solutions Architect shares his experience at BE-terna!

2 min read Jun 25, 2020

When and why did you join BE-terna as a Solutions Architect, what initially drew you to the company?

I've always wanted to be a part of a big software company, as this usually brings opportunities to work on bigger and more challenging software solutions. As I had already worked with Microsoft Dynamics CRM at my previous job, Blaž Strle (who I knew from playing volleyball) offered me a position at BE-terna, and I am grateful for the opportunity.

What is the job of Solutions Architect like at BE-terna? What is a typical day like for you?

In a nutshell: “Every day is a struggle that you overcome with your love of solution development” Being a Solutions Architect for Customer Engagement means you that have to design solutions that connect and integrate the Microsoft Dynamics platform to any existing or new applications/services, which in turn improve typical customer business flows.

A typical day would therefore be: coffee, daily meeting, problem-solving, lunch, coffee, problem-solving.

What are the pros and cons of being a Solutions Architect?

As a Solutions Architect, you have the opportunity to work with practically every type of technology, which are in turn continually evolving. Could you ask for more? 😊

No cons here!

What does it take to be a Solutions Architect?

I would say of course technical expertise, but even more so, you need experience with real-life implementations and supporting these implementations.

Who would you recommend BE-terna as an employer to?

Anyone who is open-minded, persistent and goal-orientated would fit in just fine.

If you could choose 3 adjectives to describe BE-terna's culture, what would they be?

Open-minded, persistent, and goal-orientated.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be:

A video games developer (that was the term back then!)

Every person is a story

We don’t just fill roles, BE-You!
